This past weekend was both productive and full of adventure. Saturday I was introduced to a new restaurant, Sunny Spot. Our 10am reservation called for a few mimosas, girl talk, and a makeshift 2 eggs any style breakfast.
When I am out to brunch with my girls I tend to keep my food simple so I can enjoy a few cocktails guilt-free. In this case I ordered a few sides (2 scrambled eggs, bacon, 1 piece of toast,) which together made a delicious and filling breakfast.
Knowing that I was going to let my self indulge in some Oscar Sunday munchies, I wanted to be as good as possible but still enjoy my Saturday afternoon in Venice. Us girls had planned to rent bikes and spend a few hours riding along the beach - it was the perfect way to balance out my three mimosas from breakfast.
We met up with a few friends at a local bar mid-ride. Luckily I had packed a snack (per usual) in case I got hungry at any point during the day. This has been key to my weight loss success. Instead of caving in and ordering bar food, I whipped out my protein bar, ordered a diet coke, and was good to go. Its not always the "fun" choice to make, but it is the right choice (for me), and becomes easier over time.
I am clearly a firm believer in snacks, I'll be sure to dedicate a post to them soon.
