I FINALLY got the opportunity to go and check out Taschen Books: The Rolling Stones in Photographs. Driving by this exhibit on the daily, it has been #1 on my to-do list. Not only is Keith Richards's style a huge inspiration to me, but I was also a Photography major in college, so this exhibit was pretty much made for me.
This 100 image exhibit celebrates "The Rolling Stones," a new photography book focused on The Stones and their role as major lifestyle icons throughout the history of rock 'n' roll. I love this concept. The Rolling Stones have handfuls of books focusing on their music, and this is a refreshing change of pace.
I spent about 30 minutes walking around this exhibit; flipping through the books, documenting what I could, and wishing that I could afford one of the extremely pricey prints in front of me. It was the perfect start to my weekend; stimulating, inspiring, yet simple. As I have previously stated, I'm not a huge fan of museums and art exhibits, but I thought this exhibit was perfectly designed.
