As promised I am dedicating this post to snacks... snacks of all shapes, sizes, and flavors. I am a big snacker, and at times I ever prefer snacking over an actual meal. My friends and family know that I always have a handful of healthy snack options on me at any given time. Personally, eating a little something every two hours keeps my energy up, metabolism fast, and has been a big factor in my weight loss success.
My current favorites...
Zone Perfect I limit myself to 1 bar a day. These bars definitely hold me over for a few hours. The perfect snack for any occasion; from after a workout to worldwide travelling, I always make sure to have a handful of these bars packed in my purse, car, or suitcase.
Babybel Light I LOVE cheese, and at only 50 calories I often pair this with some berries, carrots, or even some cut-up bell pepper.
Cashews can be found everywhere from the gas station, to your local farmers market, to any grocery store. I store a bag in my car, purse, and in my home. (*Note: Be aware of what you're buying. It's easy to accidentally pick up a bag of honey, candied, etc. cashews. These add extra calories, sugar, etc. so just make sure to read the label if you aren't buying plain cashews).
Another BIG TIME favorite snack food of mine is Peanut Butter. But not your ordinary Peanut Butter, I am all about Better'n Peanut Butter. The nutrition is unreal and I promise you, the taste is almost BETTER than your regular jar of Jiffy. Spread some over a piece of bread, alongside an apple or banana, or better yet... enjoy it straight off of a spoon!
