How much fun was today?! I was lucky enough to spend my afternoon at the Los Angeles Donut Festival! What is really cool about the festival is that it benefits the youth programs and social services of The Salvation Army Glendale Corp.
"All proceeds benefit the food pantry, meals on wheels for seniors, after-school program for at-risk youth, and transitional housing facilities."
Not only was I lucky enough to sample a handful of delicious donut creations but the fact that all proceeds were benefiting such a good cause is a major WIN. The venue was dope as well, MagAve Gallery/Graffiti House is an indoor/outdoor venue with amazing graffiti artwork displayed on all walls- I absolutely loved it. It would be a dream location to host an event, in my eyes.
What comes to mind when thinking of such a festival is pounds on pounds of donuts and coffee to wash down your sugar high, right? Well, it is exactly that, however, my family and I didn't over indulge ourselves and left feel satisfied and ready to continue on with our weekend. Because it was so hot, we didn't stay until the end, but we were there long enough to enjoy the live music and entertainment.
Thankfully, we got our tickets well enough in advance, seeing as this event sold out rather quickly. If you are a lover of donuts and are in search of a fun change of scenery, definitely check out The Los Angeles Donut Festival next year!
