Summer has been quite the whirlwind! These past three months have flown by for me with activity after activity, countless plane rides, and even more hotel visits. I've never been more excited to just sit still and do "nothing." All these events and travel definitely makes maintaing a healthy lifestyle difficult, but not impossible. I have learned my fair share of tips and tricks to make even the busiest of schedules fast-food and room service FREE.
As many of you already know, I am a huge fan of lists. Before traveling I always write down my days and my schedule, giving me the opportunity to map out every part of my journey (hello, outfits and accessories!). This is especially helpful when considering my meals and snacks. For instance, I am about to road trip to Northern California for my last wedding of the summer. I have written down the snacks and meals I am able to prepare for my car ride up (fresh grapefruit, a protein shake, and almonds), I am pre-cooking my breakfast for the first morning I am in town (protein pancakes), as well as bringing my snacks for the day before the wedding (fresh fruit and almonds.)
As silly as this may sound to some people, this makes it extremely easy to stay on budget while traveling and I also do not get too derailed from my normal eating routine. Of course, there are going to be a few meals here and there that may be out of my control, but I just use my best judgement...and I never turn down wedding cake!
It has definitely been a challenging summer, but I am proud to say that I have not gained a single pound and I have continued to lose countless inches! Sure, my weight loss may have slowed down a bit, which I know is due to all the fun I have been having and the countless memories I have made; but never once did I give up. Two trips to Vegas separated by only 4 days... I did it, but you best believe those days in-between I was giving it my all in the gym and eating as clean as I possibly could, to counteract all the weekend fun.
I am a firm believer in working hard and playing even harder, but all in moderation. I honestly can not wrap my head around the fact that it is SEPTEMBER already! With my last summer wedding/trip only two days away, I am ready for an unforgettable Labor Day weekend, but I am also ready to lose these last lbs and continue to work on being the best (and healthiest) possible version of myself - I have never been so focused and motivated!
What were some of your difficulties this summer? Strengths? Have you set any Fall goals?
