With April knocking at our doors, comes the start of a very busy and travel packed month for me. A bachelorette party and two weddings to be exact... none of which are close to home. I am beyond excited for all of the festivities, but also surrounded in to-do lists and suitcases! I love traveling and experiencing new things, but I also want to make sure I stay on track with my nutrition and fitness goals, as well as work.
If there is one thing that I have learned over the years, it is the key to NOT over packing. I write out all of my days that I will be somewhere, the events which I will be attending, and then I start styling my looks. I TRY ON every outfit and pack accordingly, packing only 1 extra outfit just incase. This way I am not throwing in unnecessary items of clothing or shoes and I know that the outfits that I have included fit and work perfectly.
I also make sure to pack a few of my favorite protein bars, shakes, and mixed nuts to have on hand so I never have to settle for fast food or airport food options that may not be the best choice for me.
Not knowing if I will have access to a gym everywhere I go, I still pack a workout outfit or two, and this time around, a jumprope. My trainer turned me on to jumping rope recently and I LOVE IT. Jumping rope for 10 minutes (consecutively) is the equivalent of running 1 mile. So, if I am ever strapped for time or don't have access to any other form of exercise I know I can still get in a good 15-20 minutes of cardio by jumping rope. This doesn't sound like a lot, but every little bit helps, especially when traveling.
