Leaves are lining the sidewalks, the temperature has dropped below 70 degrees... it is officially FALL in Los Angeles! I have been waiting so patiently for any excuse to pull out my leather jacket, booties, and scarves... and finally, November came around and my wish was granted. Fall is in full swing and I couldn't be more excited.
Looking back on the month of October, I can say that I truly enjoyed it to the fullest. Indulging in more treats than anticipated, my birthday was basically celebrated all month long. But you know what, looking back at it all, I do not feel a single ounce of guilt. Sure, I may not have gotten in a workout every single day, eaten more than one (or two) slices of birthday cake, or even indulged in more than my fair share of celebratory cocktails...but what's the point of living if you do not let yourself actually live a little?
Now that it is November I have taken the time to regain my focus and set new goals to take into these next few months leading up to the new year. Of course it is not the easiest transition but I am focused and I know what I want.
I am back to working out at least 5 days a week, limiting my alcohol intake to once a week (if that), and keeping my eating as clean as possible- with only one cheat meal per week.
The piece of advice that I am constantly giving others is to truly change your lifestyle, don't fall into all the fad diet hype. Don't go to extremes. Meal delivery services, waist trainers, juice cleanses... these are not long term fixes.
Be firm but realistic with yourself and your goals. Treat yourself in moderation and most importantly, LOVE yourself no matter where you are in your journey. Remember, this is YOUR journey... you have nothing to prove to anybody but yourself.
I will check in every so often over the next few months with updates for you all, in hopes to have made and met my NYE 2016 goals! What are some of your health & fitness goals this season? Advice? Questions? Comment Below!
