I have been SO excited to share our latest photo shoot for my company, Sormeh Lifestyle, with you all! A lot goes into planning a shoot like this. I have spent a few weeks brainstorming and building concept inspiration boards. Where do I want to shoot? What is the vibe? Lighting? Wardrobe? The list goes on and on.
Lucky for me I am blessed with some of the most talented friends. Sarah Zimmer, who I have known since I was 14, is a well known photographer based in San Diego. She understands my vision so well and makes me feel beyond comfortable in front of the lens. As far as wardrobe is concerned, my good friend Jami Block blew me out of the water. Having known Jami for almost 6 years, I have seen her shine in the world of fashion. She understands the woman's body so well, knows what part of each woman's body to accentuate, and also pushes you out of your comfort zone. With these two girls on my team I knew we couldn't go wrong.
Sometimes on shoots like this I will do my own makeup and hair, as I thoroughly enjoy being involved in the "glam" process. This time around, however, I had freelance makeup artist Maria Vargas in charge, and I LOVED her work. After showing her a few makeup inspo pictures, she immediately understood the look I was going for.
Spending an entire sunday afternoon shooting both in house and at El Matador State Beach, we wrapped at 5pm feeling excited, exhausted, and hungry!
