For as long as I can remember Fridays have always been half days at work, giving mom and I the afternoon to treat ourselves to lunch and a little afternoon adventure.
Todays adventure was a visit to The Taschen Gallery (where I also viewed The Rolling Stones exhibit,) exhibiting George Quaintance's physique paintings that have yet to be displayed to the public eye, until now, as well as the work of other artists.
The pieces were not exactly my preferred style, but what I do love is that fact that after 70 years, the work of George Quaintance was finally publicly on display. To imagine him having lived during a time where homosexuality was so suppressed and still finding the courage to follow his passion, is remarkable. We should all take a note out of his book, whatever your passion may be, don't turn your back on it because of what other people may think, embrace it!
If you find yourself in the area, definitely take a minute to check out this free exhibit!
